Panel I: classroom (‘stupidest thing on two feet); collage includes Stein’s clown white box, and photo copies from Goya’s Los Caprichos; with inset of grease paint and monster face. Panel II: dream of a girl in my class flying naked over me while I descend the school’s concrete staircase. Her clitoris is similar to the texture of a corncob pipe, Panel III: my cello stored in coatroom. Notebook describes how two years later I would learn about the rape with a corn cob of the woman in Faulkner’s Sanctuary.
